After the album "Call It What You Want" was released in the winter of 1997, Jeff then started re-examining his work over the past 3 years. After coming up with a 'concept' for his second album following a previous album he tried to release in 1994 called "Saints & SInners Serenade", Jeff returned to the studio to re-craft and re-work the songs. Taking the original song "Saints & Sinners Serenade", he then decided to split it into three different versions and work different songs into those categories. An old "Napalm Blue" song titled "When Heaven Departs" was added to the sessions. While examining his older songs and writing new ones, Jeff decided to release another album titled "Leftovers" featuring some of his older work. Once the sessions for the newer songs were completed, he began a stressful month of mastering two albums at once for a dual release date in the summer of 1998. Good reviews came in about the new album but sales were slow due to the fact of "Call It What You Want" being released only 7 months prior.
